According to the United States Census Bureau, there are more than 2 million black owned businesses in the US. With that being said, black owned businesses can not succeed without the help of the black population. This Holiday Season (and beyond), I challenge everyone to support black businesses.
One thing that I hear when it comes to supporting black businesses is that, customer service is terrible or their prices are to high. Nonsense, customer service at a black establishment is no different than at any other business. If you support the big chain stores like Macy’s, Nemin Marcus, or high-end stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and so on, you can also support black businesses.
Recently, I’ve been doing more to support black businesses, I’ve been trying to spend more of my money in the community and help black business owners to be successful. With the help of the internet and social media, it’s easier than ever to support black businesses. A simple repost on social media can help as well, someone on your friends list maybe interested.
I’ve compiled a list of 29 black business owners to support this Holiday Season or at anytime for that matter.
Do you accept the challenge to #BuyBlack this Holiday Season and so on?
