Before Whitney Houston ever topped a billboard chart, she graced the covers and pages of magazines…
While singing with her mother at Carnegie Hall, Whitney was spotted by a photographer who soon helped her with the launch of a modeling career.
Whitney appeared on the cover of Seventeen in November of 1981. She was also was featured in layouts for Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Young Miss among others. She went on to appear in a TV commercial for the soft drink Canada Dry. Whitney’s good looks and lovable charm made her one of the most sought after teen models during that time. While modeling, she pursued her love for singing until she released her self titled debut album in 1985. Her singing career took off, giving her the title as one of the greatest R&B singers of our time!
Rest in Peace Whitney…
