Target’s Next Designer Collaboration Should Be…

Target's Next Collaboration Should Be? Over the past years, Target has collaborated with many different designers such as Isaac Mizrahi, Jason Wu, Kate Young, Peter Pilotto, Zac Posen, Phillip Lim and recently they've added Joseph Altuzarra to the list for a fall 2014 fashion collaboration. Target has also teamed up with Neiman Marcus back in 2012 for an exclusive Holiday collection created by 24 designers, that were sold simultaneously in both stores. Like other fashion crazed individuals, I w[...]

Trend Alert: Overalls

I remember wearing overalls in high school, during what I call my tomboy phase. This was during the late 90’s early 2000’s so my Tommy Hilfiger denim overalls were super baggy, but hey that was the style back then. When I think about me wearing them, and how unflattering they were,  why did I ever leave the house in them? It’s funny looking back on things that I once wore faithfully, to feeling like I never want to wear them again.  I'm sure everyone has something that they can't believe[...]

90’s Label Cross Colours is Back…

Cross Colours Cross Colours was founded in 1989 in South Central, LA by Carl Jones. It was the first clothing brand created for everyone with a street point of view. The collection was embraced by the rising of the hip hop movement, created based on “Clothing without prejudice.” Cross Colours slogans promoted education and the end of gang violence, which made it iconic and fueled its rise. With the comeback of 90’s fashion, the demand for streetwear with authenticity and real st[...]

Meet Kid Designer: Melissa Jade Aiello…

Meet Kid Designer Melissa Jade Aiello For Melissa Jade Aiello it all started with a sketch of Karl Lagerfeld, which she completed in 15 minutes. Her illustration of the iconic designer caught the attention of everyone who saw it. People didn’t just like it, they wanted to wear it. Melissa was born in Nottingham, England in 2001. At the age of seven, while the other kids were content with coloring in their coloring books and staying in the lines, she wasn't interested. Melissa preferred to co[...]

Meet Moziah “Mo” Bridges: 12-YEAR-OLD BOW TIE DESIGNER…

Meet Moziah Bridges: 12-Year-Old Bow Tie Designer Moziah "Mo" Bridges loved dressing up at a young age, unlike his peers he wanted to wear suits and ties whenever he could. His style of inspiration came from his father and grandfather who would usually wear three-piece suits for no particular reason. To him, dressing up made him feel good. When he would go shopping for bow ties, all he ever found were plain and ugly clip-on. He didn’t want to wear a clip-on, “real men tie their own ties”[...]

How My Trip To Target Turned Into a Lite shopping Haul…

My Shopping Haul at Target This past Friday I stopped at Target to get a pair of leggings, and when I say just leggings, I mean just leggings, or so I thought. Just my luck the leggings rack is in the middle of everything. As I approached the leggings, I see that they're on sale for $5.00, but unfortunately, they were sold out of the size and style that I normally purchase. So instead I grab a pair of yoga pants (I love the way they fit, and they're thicker than regular leggings). After gr[...]

Meet Designer Stephen Burrows Stephen Burrows was born on September 15, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey. He learned how to sew at a young age when he started making clothes with his grandmother. In The World Of African American Fashion; Meet Designer Patrick Kelly…

Meet Designer Patrick Kelly Patrick Kelly was born on September 24, 1954 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. His interest in fashion came at a young age, Patrick's earliest recollection of his love for fashion was when he was about six years old. One day after his grandmother brought home a fashion magazine, he noticed that there were no pictures of African American women in it. His grandmother explained that designers did not have time for African American women and he was determined to change this.[...]

I told myself I wasn’t buying another pair of sunglasses.

Then I tried them on.

At what point does it become a collection and not a shopping problem?

Unpopular fashion opinion: Looking expensive has nothing to do with how much you spent.

Some of the best outfits I’ve ever worn weren’t the most expensive…they just fit well, felt good, and were styled with intention.

A designer label won’t fix bad styling, but confidence can elevate almost anything.

Agree or disagree?

What’s your unpopular fashion opinion?

Original price: $170

My price: $59.97

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but that’s not spending money… that’s being financially responsible.

Girl math or smart shopping? Be honest. 😂

What up doe? Fashion besties, can we talk about how hard it is to meet new people as an adult?

Between work, responsibilities, and everything else life throws our way, making new friends isn’t always easy. That’s why I love events like this. There’s something so refreshing about stepping outside your comfort zone, meeting new people, and making real life connections.

I came for the content, the donuts, and the good vibes…but I left with some great conversations and new connections.

Noowwwww…let’s talk about the food!! The donuts were good, and I especially loved the Strawberry Shortcake Layered Custard. But the real star of my evening? The Crispy Ramen Original Rice Hotdog lightly sprinkled with sugar. I’m officially hooked and already planning my next visit.

A big thank you to @DetroitFinds313 and @mochinut_berkely for hosting such a fun and welcoming event.

Now tell me, fashion besties, do you find it easy or hard to make new friends as an adult?

Anybody else love a three-piece set because it takes all the thinking out of getting dressed? Just add shoes and go. That’s my type of getting ready.

@Fabletics always has the cutest workout sets 💙💙💙

Someone told my 5’1 self I’m not petite because I’m not skinny.

Respectfully, petite means short, not skinny. If I’m not petite, then why has every pair of pants I’ve ever owned been too long unless I specifically buy short or petite sizes?

Petite girls, back me up in the comments

Petite is a height category, not a body type. My 5’1” self didn’t stop being petite just because I’m not a size 2.

Fashion besties, can we normalize getting overdressed?

I didn’t buy these clothes just to save them for a special occasion. Life is the occasion.

If I want to wear the cute dress, the statement coat, or the heels just to grab coffee, I’m doing it. The older I get, the more I realize style is meant to be enjoyed, not saved.

Tell me I’m not the only one. What’s the most “extra” place you’ve worn a cute outfit?

POV: I’ve always been too anxious to go sit in a restaurant by myself, but I decided to add it to my bucket list and finally do it.
So today, I took myself out on a solo date, ordered what I wanted, enjoyed my meal, and honestly? I wish I would’ve done this sooner.
The whole time I was thinking, “Why was I so scared of this?”
Be honest, fashion besties... have you ever taken yourself out to eat alone, or is it still on your bucket list? #fashionstyledetroit

The girls who get it, get it… leopard is a neutral!

Fashion besties, I’m so serious when I say leopard goes with EVERYTHING. At this point, I throw it on the same way other people throw on black or denim.

Like the outfit can be cute… then you add leopard and suddenly it makes sense. It’s like putting on the finishing touches.

A leopard shoe, bag, jacket, SOMETHING. It just works every time.

Please tell me I’m not the only one that treats leopard like a neutral?
