Great things are happening in the city of Detroit! This past Thursday I attended a grand opening celebration for Detroit is the New Black newest retail location Downtown at 1426 Woodward Ave.
Inspired by the city, Detroit is the New Black is “a movement of humans energized by the history and resilience of the city. We combine minimalism and high street aesthetic to achieve the perfect balance of urban fashion. A mantra for Rebirth. Industry. Inspiration. Authenticity. Culture. Join the movement.”
Detroit is the New Black will feature it’s t-shirt line along with bags, sweaters, dresses and other pieces with the brands name.
You can also find dresses by designer, Detroit native Tracy Reese. Her dresses have been seen on celebrities from Sarah Jessica Parker to the First Lady Michelle Obama. Other brands sold will include Will Leather Goods, Installation by Leon Dickey, Douglas & Co., The Lip Bar and Lazlo.
