Watching make-up tutorials on YouTube is one of my new favorite things to do. I myself love make-up, but I’m not really good at doing a “beat face”, nor do I have the patience. I usually stick with just mascara, lipstick/gloss and eyeliner. On special occasions I will go to MAC and get my make-up done. I’ve tried buying foundation but I’m never sure on what color to get and I don’t want to waste money buying the wrong colors. I guess I can always go to a make-up counter to get help, but let’s face it, it’ll probably just sit in my make-up bag collecting dust.
When I got the opportunity to try out a Mineral Wet and Dry Powder Foundation by Studio Gear Cosmetics, I gladly accepted.
Here’s What I Received:
- Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation
- Revitalizing Day Serum
- #3 Domed Foundation Brush
About the Foundation:
Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation is a true revolutionary advancement in beauty. These loose minerals provide all the benefits you’ve come to expect of a normal mineral foundation enhanced with the improved application, feel, look, and performance you love from your favorite wet, dry, or liquid foundation. It’s versatility makes it the perfect makeup for all seasons.
1 Foundation you can wear 4 Ways
1. Mineral Powder: Keep it simple and buff Foundation into skin on it’s own or over primer.
2. Serum Foundation: Mix it Up with Revitalizing Day Serum to create custom, super moisturizing coverage. (Tip, you can also mix with your favorite SPF)
3. Mattifying Finishing Powder: Take it on the go to set your liquid make-up and stay matte all day.
4. Cream Contour: Mix up darker and lighter shades with Protective Day Lotion for creamy, blendable, custom contour.
I chose the color “Raw Sugar”since it was the darkest shade they had. I applied this foundation while I was on vacation in Las Vegas. The temperature was well in the low hundreds and this mineral powder held it’s own. I actually forgot I had it on. It’s lightweight and it doesn’t clog my pores.
This is what the mineral powder looks like dry(left) and wet(right). As you can see the color doesn’t quite match my complexion and it’s the darkest shade they offer. I added my touch to it, to make it blend with my skin tone.
In this photo, I fully applied the dry foundation, by buffing it into my skin using the #3 domed foundation brush they provided me with. I also liked how smooth it makes my skin look.
This is my first time trying out a dry foundation and i’m happy with the coverage it offers along with the results.

Im not much of a make up wearer. However, when I do occassionally put some on, I use powder.

I tend to break out with most things. I do however love mineral powder and on the rare occasion l wear makeup, l use this by itself. I would try this wet and dry though :-).

It’s nice to have one product that serves so many functions especially being a foundation and powder newbie. Hopefully they can add some darker shades so more people can try.

It looks good to me, I just finished my first bottle of foundation ever. I’ve only used liquid foundation in my limited experience so I have no thoughts.
If it works for you and it looks like it does I say go for it. Once I become a bit more experienced I might be willing to try it.

Thanks for sharing! I use power foundation personally.
Elle
Looks flawless. I am looking for a new foundation because MAC isn’t blending well with my skin color anymore and it’s time for me to switch. This one looks like it could be real promising.
Jonna Scott-Blakes
It looks great on you. Especially for every day wear.

I rarely wear make up because I have a hard time finding colors that match and products that won’t break out my skin. This looks great on you and I like the versatility of the we and dry.
