10 Fun Halloween Costume Ideas…

 10 Fun Halloween Costume Ideas…

With Halloween almost a week away, I have yet to decide who or what I’m going to be this year. If you’re like me, you’re probably tired of seeing the same old costumes every year. I’m sure there will be plenty of sexy kittens, naughty nurses, french maids, and dirty cops out and about, so why not have fun and try something different this Halloween.

1. Clueless

Clueless

Clueless is one of my all-time favorite 90’s movies. I love Cher and Dionne, I totally incorporated their lingo into my vocabulary. This would be a great choice for a Halloween costume, especially if you’re trying not to spend a lot. All you really need is a skirt, sweater vest, button-up and of course knee/thigh high socks. Oh, and don’t forget to throw in a couple of “as if’s” and “whatever”.

2. Betty Boop

Betty Boop

This animated sex symbol is another great Halloween costume choice. All you need is a black wig, red dress, red shoes, the Betty Boop garter and a pair of gold earrings.

3. Maleficent

maleficent

Sleeping Beauty’s villain Maleficent is another fun costume idea. You can either go all out by wearing the full ensemble or just purchase the headset and black wings and create your own version of Maleficent.

4. Rihanna

Rihanna

One of Rihanna’s most memorable outfits was the sheer dress she wore to the CFDA Awards show. Now if you’re feeling a bit risque and bold enough to pull this look off, go for it. I would suggest wearing pasties or something underneath so you’re not showing your goodies to every Tom, Dick, and Harry. You can even opt for something non-sheer,  like a long slip dress, and don’t forget to grab a boa and a headpiece.

5. Michonne

michonne

This Walking Dead kick-ass character is no joke, killing off zombies with her katana blade. All you need for this look is a blade (fake of course), a cloak, a dreaded wig, and anything sleeveless and form-fitting. You can actually turn this into a  D.I.Y costume.

6. KimYe

KimYe

If you’re looking for a couples costume, why not go as the #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple? This is an easy DIY costume, you can just pull pieces from your closet, but don’t forget to add that infamous Kim Kardashian booty.

7. Ariel

ariel

This cute Disney Mer princess outfit would make an awesome Halloween costume.  All you need is a long green mermaid skirt, a purple bandeau or bustier top, and a long red wig. This is the perfect D.I.Y costume because you can put together your own look to create a unique looking mermaid.

8. Cruella de Vil

Cruella de Vil

I recently watched the movie 101 Dalmations with Glenn Close playing the role of the ruthless Cruella de Vil and she was always so well dressed. This character would make a great costume, all you really need is anything black and white to create this look, along with the cigarette holder that she’s always toting.

9. Judy Jetson

Judy Jetson

This futuristic animated teeny bopper was ahead of our time during the 1960s when this cartoon debuted. Another quick and easy D.I.Y look you can create if you don’t want to dish out for the actual costume. Remember Judy loved pink and she always wore her ponytail on the top of her head.

10. Miss Piggy

Miss Piggyy

Who doesn’t love Miss Piggy? This pig knows she’s a star and she won’t let anything or anyone stand in her way. She’s always so fashionably dressed. This is a really easy D.I.Y custom to pull off, all you really need is something from your own closet along with  Miss Piggy’s ears, nose, and blonde wig.

Remember Halloween is supposed to be a fun day to dress as your favorite character or for some, your favorite thing. These are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing, remember to have a fun and safe Halloween!

Unpopular fashion opinion: Looking expensive has nothing to do with how much you spent.

Some of the best outfits I’ve ever worn weren’t the most expensive…they just fit well, felt good, and were styled with intention.

A designer label won’t fix bad styling, but confidence can elevate almost anything.

Agree or disagree?

What’s your unpopular fashion opinion?

Original price: $170

My price: $59.97

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but that’s not spending money… that’s being financially responsible.

Girl math or smart shopping? Be honest. 😂

What up doe? Fashion besties, can we talk about how hard it is to meet new people as an adult?

Between work, responsibilities, and everything else life throws our way, making new friends isn’t always easy. That’s why I love events like this. There’s something so refreshing about stepping outside your comfort zone, meeting new people, and making real life connections.

I came for the content, the donuts, and the good vibes…but I left with some great conversations and new connections.

Noowwwww…let’s talk about the food!! The donuts were good, and I especially loved the Strawberry Shortcake Layered Custard. But the real star of my evening? The Crispy Ramen Original Rice Hotdog lightly sprinkled with sugar. I’m officially hooked and already planning my next visit.

A big thank you to @DetroitFinds313 and @mochinut_berkely for hosting such a fun and welcoming event.

Now tell me, fashion besties, do you find it easy or hard to make new friends as an adult?

Today called for an easy black dress, pink jelly mules, and zero overthinking. Anybody else feel like their whole mood changes when the outfit is good?

Anybody else love a three-piece set because it takes all the thinking out of getting dressed? Just add shoes and go. That’s my type of getting ready.

@Fabletics always has the cutest workout sets 💙💙💙

Someone told my 5’1 self I’m not petite because I’m not skinny.

Respectfully, petite means short, not skinny. If I’m not petite, then why has every pair of pants I’ve ever owned been too long unless I specifically buy short or petite sizes?

Petite girls, back me up in the comments

Petite is a height category, not a body type. My 5’1” self didn’t stop being petite just because I’m not a size 2.

Fashion besties, can we normalize getting overdressed?

I didn’t buy these clothes just to save them for a special occasion. Life is the occasion.

If I want to wear the cute dress, the statement coat, or the heels just to grab coffee, I’m doing it. The older I get, the more I realize style is meant to be enjoyed, not saved.

Tell me I’m not the only one. What’s the most “extra” place you’ve worn a cute outfit?

POV: I’ve always been too anxious to go sit in a restaurant by myself, but I decided to add it to my bucket list and finally do it.
So today, I took myself out on a solo date, ordered what I wanted, enjoyed my meal, and honestly? I wish I would’ve done this sooner.
The whole time I was thinking, “Why was I so scared of this?”
Be honest, fashion besties... have you ever taken yourself out to eat alone, or is it still on your bucket list? #fashionstyledetroit

The girls who get it, get it… leopard is a neutral!

Fashion besties, I’m so serious when I say leopard goes with EVERYTHING. At this point, I throw it on the same way other people throw on black or denim.

Like the outfit can be cute… then you add leopard and suddenly it makes sense. It’s like putting on the finishing touches.

A leopard shoe, bag, jacket, SOMETHING. It just works every time.

Please tell me I’m not the only one that treats leopard like a neutral?

May was a mix of getting dressed, figuring life out, creating content, romanticizing small moments, and reminding myself that growth doesn’t always look loud.

A little fashion, a little chaos, a lot of memories.
