Another Lesson In Black History…Paco Rabanne Was The First Designer To Use Black Models

Paco wanted to create a look that broke tradition, he wanted to do something different. He decided to use black models on the runway, during a time when it was never before seen. His spectacular collection caused a scandal. This outrageous behavior shocked the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne(the organization responsible for relegating ‘Haute Couture ‘ status on french fashion houses), almost causing his dismissal. Though it also gained him recognition as a new fashion designer in Paris.
